Getting Caught up!!

We have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY since our last post... We went to Hawaii for our friends wedding in Maui over Halloween and had the time of our lives. It was the off season. The weather was perfect and not a lot of visitors. I highly recommend this time of year. I am already planning next years visit. Our favorite thing was definetely the Molikini trip on the sail boat. We spent the day on a sailboat, snorkling at Molikini and Turtle Town with the turtles!! AMAZING!!! I especailly loved watching the sunsets on the beach... I wish I could stay forever....

I want my $10.00

Today Gabe came home from school and immediately said he was bored. I asked him to go make his bed. He came back down and asked me if he could help by taking out the garbage. I said yes, that would be great Gabe!!! While taking out the garbage Gabe asked me if he could have $10.00 for taking out the garbage. WOW!!! $10.00 that is a hefty price to pay for taking out the garbage. We agreed to $1.00. We are working on the negotiating skills. Stay tuned for the Real Estate Apprentice...... LOL!!!!

Witch with long legs

Emmie somehow thinks that stockings, hose, nylons etc. whatever you want to call them means long legs. It took me a while to figure it out. She has been telling me for a few weeks that she is going to be a witch with long legs for Halloween.... Not sure where this came from. I think a conversation between her and her grandma Dee. So the other day I put a pair of stretch pants on her with a cute long top and she said to me "Mommy, I am a princess". I said yes Emmie you are and she said with long legs!!!!! I laughed so hard I cried....

With Daddy's help

On Thursday Todd was working from home and helped me get Emmie ready for school while I was doing work stuff in the office. He got her in the bath tub and before I knew it she was ready for school. I asked if he brushed her teeth? Yes, he said. Get her dressed? yes, he said. What is she wearing?I asked concerned. Her little 70's outfit thing he said. I had no idea what this was and interested to see... What about her hair? Did you do her hair? Yes, he said. You can imagine what I must have been thinking... I had to get a picture.. And I realized at that moment that it did not matter what she was wearing or how her hair was done but that dad did it and did a great job. I don't always have to do everything even though I think I do.....

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful Daddy and husband......

My Sweet Boy

Gabe is so thoughtful... While we were at Bear River Lodge last weekend Gabe took a stroll over to the little store there to see what he could find. One of several trips to look at any possible toys to buy...

On Sunday before we left he took his final trip to see what he could find.. I think he is definetely my son.

When he came back he had bought me a bracelet. He saw the jewelry on his first visit and told his dad that he wanted to buy his mom a present cause he knew she really liked jewelry. Well, he managed to tell every single family memeber that he saw a bracelet that he was going to buy and surprise his mom with and kept it a secret from me the whole weekend. What a sweet boy!!!!
He even put the worms on my hook for me and reminded me how to cast. It has been a long time...

BEAR RIVER LODGE

We spent last weekend in the mountains with our family at Bear River Lodge. It was amazing with the leaves at their peak. We had a great time fishing, 4 wheeling and just spending time with family!!! One of our favorite places!!!! All of the kids including the big kids fished the catch and release lake. It was very exciting for the little ones too...

CRASH AND BURN

Emmie and I were sitting outside this week on the front porch while Todd was mowing the lawn. Emmie was jumping around on the stairs and tripped. She fell from the top step to the bottom on her head. The sound of her head hitting the cement was worse then the actual injury.

Poor Emmie!!! Happy to report no major damage...

Look What My Made

Emmie loves to make crafts at preschool. Everyday I pick her up she comes running holding up her craft of the day saying "LOOK WHAT MY MADE". She is so proud and so cute!!!

This lady bug vest and head band is her latest craft from preschool...

On Thursday I made a craft of my own. The PTA at Gabe's school has a art program called "Meet The Masters" where the parents volunteer to teach an art project to a classroom once a month. Part of this volunteer program is that the parent has to go to a training prior to teaching the project and gets to do the project themselves. We are focusing on local artists in Utah this month and I am one of the lucky parents that gets to do the project for the month of October in Gabe's class.

So here it is "LOOK WHAT MY MADE"!!!!!! SO PROUD!!!!

Emmie's shopping day

Emmie has been asking for earrings. I have not been ready for this step and have been putting it off. Emmie has not forgotten and keeps asking for earrings. I finally agreed. I told her that we would go and get her some earrings. On Sunday, I took her to the mall to get a gift and to get her earrings as she calls it. We were in Nordstrom looking for a gift and I found a pair of sunglasses in my purse. I took them out and told Emmie that we can not just take things that we have to pay for them first. Before we left the store I found another pair of sunglasses and about 4 really cute sparkly shirts in my bag. Good thing I didn't get arrested. We went into the mall to get Emmies earrings but not before she managed to get out of one store and into another with a little purse.

We finally arrived to get Emmies earrings. She did not realize what was going to happen. I am certain I was more nervous then she was. She cried for a minute and then got a sucker. Her earrings are very pretty and she is a PRINCESS!!!!

Lagoon

We go to Lagoon once every year which seems to be just the right amount of time. Yesterday we went to Lagoon with Gabe and Emmies cousins, Heather and Mike, Kirsty and Grandma Dee. Papa came later after the BYU game of course.
Gabe was 8 this year so we figured that he would be ready for some bigger rides and we were right. He was ready for the white roller coaster and the tidal wave. He did really well and had a lot of fun riding some of the bigger rides. It was great to see him having so much fun and enjoying it. One of the last rides was the new ride "THE WICKED". Gabe got in line with everyone and was doing just fine. I was a bit nervous for him but figured if it scared him he would still be ok. Well, after a while of waiting I figured they had to be close so I went up to check. They were actually on the ride and I could see them from where I was standing. It looked a bit much for me. Anyway, after they came to a stop I noticed Gabe was no where in the seats with them. I looked around where I was standing and there he was alone and sobbing. I felt so sad for him. But, the good news is he lived!!!
Emmie had a blast on all of the kiddie rides. She loved everything and didn't want to get off of the planes. She even went on the little Rocket and said it tickled her belly... She is so funny.
At the very end of the day. Heather, Mike, Kirsty and her friend decided to do the free fall.
It was very exciting to watch them. I cannot imagine myself ever doing it but looked like the thrill of a lifetime. It was a fun day at Lagoon with the family. Wish everyone could have been there to share it with us..

Why Makeup?

Yesterday I was getting ready and Gabe came in. He said, mommy why do you need makeup? It really doesn't make a difference. See, now your skin is a different color. I said, well Gabe it covers my blemishes and zits. He said, see mom that is just it you look better with the zits.....
I love that he loves me just the way I am.
If only everyone saw it the same way. Life would be so much easier............

Where is Grandma New?

Gabe and Emmie's great Grandma Newman died last year on Thanksgiving Day. She was a very special person in all of our lives. All of the children were very close to thier Grandma "NEW" as Gabe has always called her.
Last night before bed Emmie said, where is Grandma New? I said, Grandma New is in heaven. Emmie replied, I want to go see her. I said, I am sorry but, we can not see Grandma New in heaven. Emmie did not like this answer. She said YES, I WANT TO SEE GRANDMA NEW IN HEAVEN TOMORROW...
Not sure how to argue with that....

First Day Of Pre School

Today was the first day of pre school for my baby. It seems like just yesterday I came home from the hospital with a brand new baby girl and today she is off to pre school. At what point did my baby become a little girl? Which has brought me to blogging. It made me realize that life is too short and that it is important to record the important things each and everday!!!!

Emmie has been talking about going to school for a week straight. Ever since Gabe started school last Monday. All she has been saying is "I go to school". Well, today was the test. Would she really be so big and brave? The answer is YES she was. She did not seem to care if I was there or not. She marched down the hall into her classroom, sat down on the play mat with all of the kids and toys and made herself right at home. I thought she would be a bit hesitant about it for just a minute maybe? NOPE, she is little miss independant!!!

Gabe (her big brother) was so excited to pick her up from school today. He ran as fast as he could home from school. When we got there she was patiently waiting with her craft of the day. She had had the time of her life. I am so excited that she is going to love "The Winner School". And I am sad my baby is growing up too quickly.
